Abstract
This subject introduces students to advanced leadership practice, which is founded in Biblical and theological principles, together with a critical review of church practice. Particular models of church leadership are addressed together with their critical application within a given ministry context. Students will be challenged to develop and implement more effective models of leadership for ministry in the Australian context. |

- be able to analyse critically the place of leadership within a given ministry context
- be able to demonstrate advanced skills in the development and implementation of new models of leadership
- be able to demonstrate an evidence based approach to the transformation of practice within a given ministry context
- be able to demonstrate an understanding of key management issues within an Australian church context

SyllabusThe subject will cover the following topics:
- Biblical and theological principles of leadership within ministry
- Leadership and authority in the Christian tradition
- Models of transformative practice in ministry leadership
- Key contemporary contexts, e.g., ageing, gender, cross cultural communities, reconciliation, etc.
- The interrelationship between leadership and management
- Key management issues in the Australian church context
- The place of communal worship and sacramental life in leadership and transformation
- Transformative pastoral practice
