They will be expected to undertake screening, assessment and identification and prioritisation of those at nutritional risk, make appropriate nutrition diagnoses, prepare and implement nutrition care plans for achieving management goals in collaboration with the client or carer and other members of the health care team. Students will also demonstrate the use of client centred counselling skills to facilitate lifestyle change, monitor the progress of the individuals condition and care and adapt care plans as necessary. Students must demonstrate safe practice and reach entry level dietetic competency as assessed by the final placement supervising dietitian (APD).
