Allied Pinnacle is a world class milling and bakery business operating in Australia for more than 100 years. Operating from 12 manufacturing locations across Australia. Allied Pinnacle is Australia’s second largest processor of grains supplying processed grains, flours, bakery ingredients to large scale branded food manufacturers and unbranded finished bakery products for sale in the major retailers, franchise outlets and food service outlets.
The Cool Soil Initiative’s focus on grain sustainability encompassing green house gas emissions, soil carbon and positive farm management, is a first for the grain industry. Working closely with farming system groups across western NSW, Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area and northern Victoria, the initiative monitors and tracks hard wheat, soft wheat and corn, year on year.
“As a grain processor and supplier to many food manufacturers, it was the diversity of crop types in the program and having access to data to be able to report on Scope 3 emissions, that attracted Allied Pinnacle to Cool Soil Initiative,” said Robyn Murray, General Manager of Innovation.
As a participant in the grains industry value chain from grower to consumer, Cool Soil Initiative will play a major role in delivering Allied Pinnacle’s Sustainability Strategy Our Future Matters. The strategy aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and highlights four areas of focus, two of which will be supported by Cool Soil Initiative, Lower Emissions and Build Communities. Achieving our ongoing sustainability goals, demonstrates Allied Pinnacle’s commitment to making our planet better today and for those who follow.
