Congratulations to Professor Alan Cadwallader, who co-edited the book, The Village in Antiquity and the Rise of Early Christianity, along with James Hardison (Sydney College of Divinity), Angela Standhartinger (University of Marburg) and Larry Welborn (Fordham, New York). The book challenges the dominant thesis that cities are the key to early Christianity. On 23 April, Interim Executive Director of the ACC&C, Dr Jonathan Cole, gave a talk on ‘𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀, 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲’ as part of the Christians for an Ethical Society (CES) forum series. Dr Cole used two examples of GPT-4 and self-driving cars to illustrate how AI is impacting our lives and what its impact might be in the future. The lecture was well-attended.....
