Student volunteer opportunity provider form

Volunteer request form

Thanks for sharing your volunteer opportunity with us. We're excited to offer our students a chance to learn new skills, make connections, and help their community through your opportunity.

Please make sure you give your volunteers the training or mentoring they need for their role and supervise them properly. Our students volunteer to learn new skills, so it's important that they get this chance. If you can, giving them a reference, recommendation, or a certificate for their help is a great way to thank them for their work.

When you list your opportunity with us, please keep in mind:

  • Volunteers are not the same as paid staff.
  • We can't promise that students will respond to your opportunity - it's up to them if they're interested.
  • If needed, we can promote your opportunity again in our newsletter, either during the school term or holidays, to help it get more attention.
  • You need to supervise your volunteers the whole time and provide them with the right training and support.
  • The tasks for volunteers should be meaningful and help them develop their skills.
  • Be clear about how much time the opportunity requires.
  • It's your job to make sure volunteers meet your requirements and have any necessary training or certificates (like Working with Children Check, RSA, White Card, etc.). We don't keep this information at the university.

Here's what happens next:

  • We'll share the details you've given us with all our student volunteers. This might take up to 4 weeks after you've filled out this form.
  • Interested students might contact you directly using the details you provided, or our Careers and Skills Team at Charles Sturt University might get in touch with you to give you some student contacts. But remember, we don't give out student details to anyone unless the students say it's okay.

If we require further information, we will contact you. If you have questions or would like to amend your request, please email volunteering@csu.edu.au.
