Take a walk through the process of wearing your academic dress. Don't worry - staff will be available to help you get dressed so that your trencher is on the right way!
To limit contact, staff will act as flight attendants to direct you on how to don your academic gowning.
You will need to put your gown on first. With the master's gown your arm is exposed from the elbow. With the bachelor gown your arm does not go through the slit in the arm. You may need to ensure the gown has not slipped back due to the gathering on the yoke.
To put on the hood (your academic colours) open it out and place over your head. The front part of the hood should show both the red and faculty colour. The hood will be attached to your gown to ensure it sits on your shoulders and showcases your academic colours.
The trencher is the graduate hat worn by graduates receiving a Bachelor, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters award. The small peak goes to the front. The flat top should be horizontal. If it's not horizontal - you have your hat on back to front. The tassel is worn to the right.
Different degree levels and faculties have different colours and styles. Choose your level and degree below to see what you'll be wearing.

The tassel is worn on the right hand side. At most of the graduation ceremonies where there is a professional photographer they will ask that you wear it to the right so that it does not block your face when stage photos are taken.
