With Challenges Abroad as the host, students on this program will immerse themselves in Nepal’s vibrant local culture, while using their knowledge and skills to contribute towards long-term development objectives.
During the first few days, students will have a full orientation into the program, participating in immersion activities, University engagement and site visits, setting them up for success as they engage with the local community. This program offers students the opportunity to work in an inter-professional environment as they help to build financial awareness with local communities in rural Nepal. Supported by our team on the ground, the students will work with local women’s groups and local students to assess the needs of the community, to help drive educational activities and workshops on financial and business literacy. Students will develop a greater understanding of how the lack of education quality and financial awareness reflects in social injustice issues and perpetuates gender inequality. Working in low income and rural communities, students will use their activities and workshops to raise aspirations, supporting women and youth from local communities achieve success over the long term.
