This program is subject to change. The information below will provide an insight into what to expect on a future program
This program will introduce you to the psychology of change and development in Nepal. You will be based in Kathmandu and the beautiful world heritage area of Chitwan National Park for the two weeks of the trip.
Throughout this you'll meet students, teachers, doctors, counsellors, and NGOs to explore processes of change and adaptation, with a focus on development and post-pandemic healing. You’ll take part in conservation activities, visit rehabilitation and counselling centres, and explore the impact of the 2015 earthquake and COVID-19 pandemic with medical and psychological professionals. You’ll visit the beautiful temples and palaces of Kathmandu, go on a hike with Himalayan views, and take part in a yoga session. You will go home with a broader perspective of development and change in Nepal, confident in your ability to understand this diverse and dynamic environment, and how it relates to Australia.
The self-ticketing aspect of the program will allow you the flexibility of exploring the beauty and culture of Nepal at your leisure prior to and/or after the program completion.
