Switzerland: Business and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

This tour is aimed at students wishing to immerse themselves in Swiss Culture. The program will provide students with a comprehensive and practical understanding of global marketing strategies with the help of case studies of organisations/corporations located in Switzerland.

The program will be hosted by the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences (OST) located in St. Gallen, a partner institution of Charles Sturt University. St. Gallen is a reputed university in east Switzerland specialised in applied areas such as Business, Economics and Finance. Switzerland like Australia has a thriving service sector.
The two week program will focus on hands-on experience on operations of national and international corporations operating in the areas around St Gallen. Students will have the opportunity to study the way large corporations manage their organisations in general, and marketing operations in particular. Corporations will be selected from consumer goods (i.e. a visit to a Chocolate Factory) and financial services which are concentrated in Switzerland.
Activities will include field trips, market research, data collection, documentation and observation. Direct exposure to several European languages in the process will enhance language competencies of our students to a certain extent. Students will also undertake additional assessment items, including a reflective journal in order to ensure deeper engagement with the country and its culture.

Learning about so many different cultures and meeting such a different group of people is something you can’t experience in classrooms here. Everyone was there for the same reasons; a love of learning, love of travel and curiosity. These things bound us all together.
