Mental Health Services in Vietnam

This program has 10 x $3000 New Colombo Plan mobility grants available to assist students with the costs associated with this program

This New Colombo Plan funded program will give you a first-hand experience of the challenges facing the delivery of mental health services in a south-east Asian nation.

During your two weeks abroad, you will learn about the limiting nature and challenges of delivering health services in Vietnam, and how front line mental health services may be provided with limited resources, to the benefit of the social and emotional well-being of the people. You'll meet with university staff and students of psychology programs, as well as engaging in activities such as basic language lessons, cultural site tours and organisational visits designed to enable you to gain a well-rounded appreciation of the history, culture, and people of Vietnam.

The self-ticketing nature of your travel will allow you to explore Vietnam and beyond either prior to, or on completion of the program.
