This program has $3000 New Colombo Plan mobility grants available to assist students with the costs associated with this program
This New Colombo Plan funded program is designed for students wishing to enhance their critical care and paramedic skills, whist increasing their cultural competency – all in a Pacific Island setting! This overseas travel experience gives you the opportunity to learn how paramedic and emergency care services are delivered within Vanuatu.
You'll learn how paramedic education is delivered in the country, participate in community health education programs, observe clinical practice on local ambulances while responding to emergency calls, and spend time in a variety of other healthcare settings, including remote health clinics and the main hospital in Vanuatu.
Vanuatu is a multi-ethnic country and you will meet, share experiences with, and interact with a range of emergency services professionals and patients from different cultures, religions and ethnicities who speak several different languages. Importantly, you will also share information about Australian paramedic services and the university based system for local student paramedics.

I found this program extremely beneficial in improving my clinical skills, knowledge, and ability to treat patients confidently. I loved having the opportunity to travel independently and meet new students from other campuses of my cohort
