Mandatory training modules

As a student, you may be required to complete one or more mandatory training modules as part of a facility induction or coursework – think when you're studying in labs, working with hazardous substances, dangerous goods, or hazardous chemicals.

A staff member, such as your Head of School, Honours Advisor, Subject Coordinator, Technical Officer, or another relevant staff, will inform you if any specific training is required for your studies or practical activities.

The following safety and induction modules are currently available in the Brightspace Safety and Health Student Online Training site:

  • Your Safety (Safe U @ CSU)
  • Fire and Emergency Procedures
  • WHS Risk Management
  • Chemical Safety @ CSU
  • Information Security Awareness
  • Defence Trade Control Act

The "Radiation General Induction" module is currently under review. If you need to complete this training, please contact the relevant technical services areas and/or your supervisor.

For any questions about training requirements, you can contact the relevant technical services area or your supervisor.

How to enrol in these modules

  1. Go to the Brightspace Safety and Health Student Online Training page.
  2. Log in with your Charles Sturt University username and password (if needed).
  3. Enrol in the course. There are a variety of available modules in this site. You only need to compete in the modules you are instructed to do.
  4. Select the course and complete the module/s.

You need to score at least 80% in each required module, and don’t forget to take a screenshot of your passing grades to provide to the requesting staff member as proof of completion.
