Are you a carer? We can help reduce the impact of your caring role on your studies.
To register, you need to be a person who provides personal care, support and assistance to another person who needs it because that other person has a disability, medical condition, mental health condition or is aged and frail, and that person is substantially dependent on you for ongoing care.
A person is not a carer merely because they are the spouse, de facto partner, parent, child, other relative or guardian of another person. A person is also not a carer simply because they live with a person who requires care (Carer Recognition Act 2010).
If you're still not sure if we can help make an appointment or email access@csu.edu.au
We’re committed to making sure all our students have equal access to learning. Register with us as soon as possible so we can support you with adjustments such as extensions for assessments.
When you register with Accessibility and Inclusion Support, we’ll connect you with an Accessibility and Inclusion Advisor who will work with you to develop your Carer Support Plan detailing any reasonable adjustments that you may need to successfully complete your studies.
You can add details about your caring role to your enrolment through your Online Administration by selecting ‘Carer’.

After completing steps 1-3 you can schedule a time with an Accessibility and Inclusion Advisor to develop your Carer Support Plan.
What you will discuss and agree upon during your appointment:
Your Accessibility and Inclusion Advisor will then send you a copy of your Carer Support Plan. You will be responsible for emailing your plan to your subject coordinators each session.
