The Club Athlete of the Year Award recognises and celebrates the exceptional achievements and exemplary character of a sports club athlete within the Charles Sturt University community.
This award highlights the dedication, commitment, and hard work demonstrated by the recipient in their chosen sport. It goes beyond mere athletic performance and considers their overall character and the positive impact they have had on the Charles Sturt University community.
Criteria for nomination and selection include:
- Enrolled Student at Charles Sturt University: The nominee must be an enrolled student at Charles Sturt University, actively working towards a degree or diploma during the eligibility period for the award.
- Active club member: Be an active member of a Charles Sturt University sporting club
- Outstanding Athletic Achievements: The nominee should have achieved exceptional athletic success within their sports club during the season. This can include individual accomplishments, records set, titles won, or outstanding contributions to team success. Their achievements should reflect a high level of skill, performance, and dedication to their sport.
- Commitment to the Club: The nominee should have shown unwavering commitment, dedication, and active involvement within their sports club. They should have regularly attended training sessions, competitions, and club events, demonstrating a strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
- Leadership and Sportspersonship: The nominee should exemplify leadership qualities and demonstrate exemplary sportspersonship both on and off the field. They should display integrity, respect, fairness, and a positive attitude, serving as a role model to their teammates and peers within the club and the wider Charles Sturt University community.
- Exemplary Character: The nominee should embody exemplary character traits that positively contribute to the Charles Sturt University community. This can include demonstrating a strong sense of integrity, empathy, inclusivity, and a commitment to fostering a supportive and respectful environment within the club.
