Sporting Blue

Awarded to student-athlete/s who have achieved the highest level of sporting excellence in their chosen sport, who are a person of outstanding character and values. A University Blue is the utmost accolade a university athlete can receive.

A University Sporting Blue represents the pinnacle of sporting achievement at Charles Sturt University. It celebrates not only exceptional athletic talent but also the embodiment of admirable character and values. The recipients of this award serve as inspirations and role models, embodying the highest standards of sporting excellence, personal growth, and community engagement.

Criteria for nomination and selection include:

  • Enrolled Student at Charles Sturt University: The nominee should be or have been an enrolled student at Charles Sturt University, actively working towards a degree or diploma at the time of the performance.
  • Enrolment duration: The nominee must have successfully completed two semesters at the University.
  • Achievement: The nominee shall be an outstanding performer and meet the individual and/or team standards in their sport at a professional, national or international level.
  • The nominee shall for a minimum period of TWO competitive years have actively participated at the highest level of sport, or equivalent.
  • Outstanding Character and Values: The nominee should exemplify outstanding character and values both on and off the field. They should embody integrity, sportsmanship, respect, humility, and a positive attitude. They should serve as role models for their teammates, peers, and the wider Charles Sturt University community.
