Sports Club of the Year

Awarded to a Charles Sturt Sports club in recognition of their outstanding achievements in administration, service to members and community, and the promotion and development of their sport and club.

Prize: $1000

The Sports Club of the Year award recognises the exceptional accomplishments and contributions of a Charles Sturt University sports club. By excelling in various areas, including administration, service to members and the community, and the promotion and development of their sport, the recipient of this award serves as a model for other clubs and contributes to the positive sporting culture at Charles Sturt University.

Criteria for nomination and selection include:

  • On field/court achievements:  The club should display positive on field/court achievements and activities during the 2023 season
  • Number of active members: The sports club should show a healthy number of active members
  • Increase in club membership: The sports club should show an increase in membership numbers from last season to the current year’s season
  • Club functions: The club should have held a number of positive club functions
  • Fundraising efforts: The club should illustrate the fundraising efforts they’ve displayed for charity, the community and/or for the club
  • Service and other awards received by club members: The club should illustrate awards and service from club members
