Dr Somit Prasad qualified from Guy’s Dental Hospital, part of King's College London in 2002. He undertook senior house officer positions in Paediatric Dentistry and Oral Surgery at Guy's Hospital and at King's College Hospital. In 2004 he joined the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at the Royal London Hospital. He gained his MFDS in 2005 from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. After working in general practice, he established his own private practice in Greater London in 2011.
In 2012 he joined the teaching staff at the Royal London Hospital Institute of Dentistry, undertaking a part time role in teaching Oral Surgery. In 2016 he was awarded his Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and in 2020 he gained his Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) for his role in teaching.
In 2023 he and his family made the decision to move from London to Australia. He joined Charles Sturt University and works as a general practitioner in the clinic and is also involved in teaching dental undergraduate students. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry in particular implant dentistry and Invisalign.
In his spare time, Dr Prasad is a keen musician playing both the saxophone and piano. Dr Prasad, his wife and his two boys are really enjoying life here in Orange with the addition of their dog, Cosmo.
