BDS (Wits), PGD Implantology (UWC), PGCE (UNISA) Dr Kirthie Maikoo is a registered dentist with the Dental Board of Australia and a member of the Australian Dental Council. She is also an affiliate with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Kirthie currently holds the position of dentist and clinical tutor at the Charles Sturt University Dental and Oral Health Clinic in Wagga Wagga. Kirthie graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa in 2003. Following graduation, she worked as a community service dentist for a year and then went on to start a private dental practice, during which time she worked closely with specialists in the field of dentistry, expanding her knowledge and experience. Kirthie worked as a private dental practitioner until she moved to Australia in 2023. While working in private practice, Kirthie pursued and completed a postgraduate diploma in Implantology in which she qualified with distinction. She also completed a postgraduate certificate in Education in 2016, giving her an understanding of learning and teaching. Upon moving to Australia, Kirthie participated in and passed the Australian Dental Council Examinations which then led to her registering with AHPRA, the Australian Dental Board. Prior to starting work as a private dental practitioner in Australia, she worked briefly at a School for Special Purposes. Her role involved working with children of all ages with special needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Outside of Dentistry, she indulges in baking, cake decorating, jewellery making and enjoys spending time with family and friends.Dentists
