Dr Furness coordinates a university-wide approach to promoting and monitoring student academic integrity, working collaboratively with stakeholders to oversee a variety of services, including student education, staff development and misconduct reporting. Ensuring there are strong links between the academic integrity work occurring in Faculties and Divisions, Dr Furness drives continuous improvement projects to effectively deliver, monitor and evaluate activities and initiatives related to academic integrity.

Dr Furness holds a PhD in Molecular Biology and brings a wealth of experience from her work across South Africa, England, Switzerland, and the United States. With over 13 years in research and Higher Education, she is passionate about using her skills and knowledge in policy development, research management and quality assurance to drive change and foster a culture of excellence.
