Criteria: The thesis is to be assessed by examiners as an outstanding contribution to the field. It will demonstrate that the candidate(s) has a highly developed understanding of the research topic and carried out the project with exceptional academic rigour.

Police Association of New South Wales Award

Recipient: Alexander Manfred -  Bachelor of Policing

Criteria: Awarded to the graduating student with the highest course GPA (Min 5.5), and who is a sworn or unsworn member of the NSW Police.

Prize: The prize consists of an engraved glass trophy supplied by the Police Association of New South Wales and an inscribed certificate issued by the University.

Australian Psychological Society Prize

Recipient: TBA 

Criteria: Awarded to the graduating student from either an Honours year in Psychology or the Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology with the most distinguished record.

Prize: The prize consists of:

  1. A letter from the APS President that recognises the excellence of their achievements in studying psychology.
  2. A certificate.
  3. An offer of one year of complimentary membership of the Society provided that the successful Candidate makes an application for membership within three (3) months of receiving notice of their Prize. Any successful Candidate who is an existing Student or Associate Member of the Society will be offered membership of the Society for the following twelve (12) months at no cost.
  4. An invitation to present a poster on their thesis at the APS Congress in the year following their nomination for the Prize or, in years when no Congress will be held, at another high profile event. If the successful Candidate accepts this invitation, their Congress/event registration fee will be paid for by the APS.

NSW Western Region Branch Prize for Excellence in Applied Psychology Studies

Recipient: This prize will be awarded after March 2025

Criteria: Awarded to the student with the highest mark in PSY404 Psychological Assessment and whose primary place of residence is in the Western Region of NSW.

Prize: The prize consists of a book voucher to the value of $100, a one year membership subscription to the Australian Psychological Society and an inscribed certificate issued by the University.
