The Annual Course Health Check (ACHC) reviews are a crucial part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining the quality and effectiveness of our courses. These reviews allow us to evaluate the strengths and areas for improvement within each course, enabling us to make informed decisions regarding curriculum enhancements and pedagogical strategies. To support Course Directors (CDs) in this endeavour, the Division of Learning and Teaching (DLT) has implemented several measures and resources to streamline the review process and provide valuable insights.
Here are some of the key support initiatives:
We run faculty-based workshops to familiarise course directors with the ACHC review process, guidelines, and CDAP templates. These workshops will provide an opportunity to clarify any questions or concerns regarding the workflow of an ACHC and the Educational Designer (ED) support available during this process.
We hold faculty-based follow up drop-in sessions to address concerns about completing ACHC reviews in CDAP.
We have developed comprehensive guidelines and CDAP templates that outline the key areas to be assessed during the ACHC reviews. These resources will help you structure your review and ensure consistency across all courses.
Our EDs will assist CDs in analysing and interpreting the Office of Policy and Analytics (OPA) course data and developing actions that address identified issues. These steps will help facilitate evidence-based decision-making during the review process.
Our EDs will provide support for category 2 (Amber/Light touch) and category 3 (Red/Deep dive) in the ACHC review. They will prioritise category 3 (Deep dives) and be available on-demand to support category 2 (Light touch).
