Bachelor (Honours) University Medals

Bachelor (Honours) University Medals are awarded annually to one honours student per faculty.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to be nominated you must:

  • be graduating from a Charles Sturt University bachelor (honours) course of any duration (including integrated honours);
  • have completed at least 64 points of study for the course at the University;
  • have achieved class 1 honours and at least one examiner of the graduand’s thesis or dissertation must have recommended a mark of 90% or higher; and
  • have the faculty’s highest mark for the thesis or dissertation.

Timeline and Process

1st week October Eligible graduands/graduates identified The Executive Dean (or delegate) of each faculty will identify anyone who has graduated or will graduate in the relevant calendar year and meets the eligibility criteria.
Last week of October List of eligible graduands/graduates reviewed The Executive Dean (or delegate) of each faculty will review the list of eligible recipients for their faculty and may decide to exclude any students that have a misconduct finding against them or for any other reason they see necessary (which must be reported to the Academic Senate).
1st week November Medal Recipients Identified The Executive Dean (or delegate) will affirm the recipient for their faculty who meets the criteria and has the highest mark for their thesis or dissertation, and advise the Division of Students - Student Administration and Academic Senate of the results.
December Medals Conferred Medal recipients are given the option to receive their medal at a December graduation ceremony, or posted to them. A recipient will be required to return their original transcript so that an updated transcript can be provided.
