Ukraine Student Support Fund

The world has been watching with growing horror at the unfolding situation in the Ukraine. It is easy to feel helpless as the tide of war sweeps over the country and its people.

Organisations are stepping up to address the immediate needs of the Ukrainian people but there is also a need to focus on Ukraine’s future and the longer task of rebuilding a country. One of the first things to suffer during war is the education of the next generation.

Charles Sturt University with the help of our wider communities can light a spark of hope for Ukraine’s future by helping to ensure their best and brightest have an opportunity to pursue their education.    With your help we plan to establish a scholarship fund, focusing on providing opportunities for Phd students from Ukraine. To allow them to live and study in Australia while studying the student will require a full fee waiver, an annual stipend to support their living expenses / relocation and a research operating fund to support their research.

We hope to raise $200,000 to support two students for three and a half years while they complete their degree. Any additional funds raised will be pooled for scholarships for other Ukrainian students seeking opportunities to study in Australia.

To maximise your impact the Charles Sturt Foundation will match every dollar raised to help provide scholarships. The University will provide fee waivers. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.  Raising these funds quickly will allow us to expediate opportunities for students looking to escape the current tyranny.
