Charles Sturt Legacy Society
Once you have advised of your inclusion of Charles Sturt in your Will or planned gift, you will be invited to join the Charles Sturt Legacy Society, named in honour of Captain Charles Napier Sturt, noted explorer and extraordinary person after whom our University is named.
The Charles Sturt Legacy Society recognises and celebrates those individuals whose commitments made today will benefit Charles Sturt's students, research and programs for many generations to come.
“A wish to contribute to the public good led me to undertake those journeys which cost me much. I should exceedingly regret it if it were thought I had volunteered hazardous and important undertakings for the love of adventure alone… though in no case could a career more honourable than that of discovery have been open to me when in 1827 I landed on Australian shores.”

As a member of the Legacy Society, you will receive a formal letter of acknowledgement and gratitude from the University Vice Chancellor, and be presented with a special Charles Sturt Legacy Society lapel pin at one of our Foundation ceremonies.
Members are invited to attend the annual Legacy Society luncheon hosted by the Vice Chancellor and Legacy Society Patron. Additionally, members will also have access to exclusive events throughout the year where you can interact with like-minded individuals, keep in touch with what is happening at the University, and set a philanthropic example that others may choose to follow.
All of our confirmed bequestors will be publicly acknowledged in the Advancement Office Philanthropic Report and in other Foundation annual publications (unless otherwise requested).
