Engineering a future of her own design

Growing up in Griffith, Emma Zanotto had a passion for mathematics and the arts. With the discipline of Engineering, Emma believes she can combine her technical and creative sides to solve real-world problems. “I believe a career which fosters all my passions is one that will be truly rewarding. The course structure of the Engineering course and social scene at Charles Sturt University are a key stepping stone in my plans for the future.”

Heavily involved in community and school activities, Emma’s contributions were a key factor in her receiving the 2017 Riverina Water County Council Scholarship along with her exceptional ATAR of 95.8.

“This scholarship is an honour. It allows me to comfortably dedicate myself to studies without the heavy financial burden of university fees and the costs of living away from home. Such financial assistance allows me to become an independent student, easing the burden on my family and aiding in my study journey. I wish one day to return to my home town of Griffith to pursue a career in engineering, to not only build a great future for myself, but to also allow me to help build up and inspire others.”
