Gilgandra Shire supports nursing students
Located in Central West NSW, Gilgandra is a vibrant rural community of 4400 people. Committed to developing skills in the Gilgandra community, Gilgandra Shire Council has established a scholarship for current or commencing Bachelor of Nursing students with a demonstrated interest in aged care or disability services.
Worth a maximum of $9000, the scholarship provides financial support and part-time work at the Cooee Lodge aged care facility while studying and with a guaranteed full-time Registered Nurse role upon completion.
As an added bonus, Gilgandra Shire Council is also paying 25% of the student’s HECS debt for every year they are engaged in full-time employment with Council thereafter.
