Biography

Dr. Liu has a Ph.D. in Agriculture from Zhejiang University (2009), a master's degree in Integrated Pest Management (2006), and a bachelor's degree in Plant-Protection (2003).

She has postdoctoral work experiences at the Chinese Academy of Forest Science, Fujian Agricultural and Forestry University. After a short break to focus on family, she joined CSU in 2017 to investigate agroecology approaches for insect pest management, working on projects funded by ACIAR, Wine Australia, AgriFutures, etc.

Her research experience includes multiple production systems such as horticulture crops of vegetables, tomato, and wine grapes (vineyard); broadacre crops of rice, sweetpotato; and camelia tea tree forest, bamboo forest etc.

She was a research fellow at Gulbali Institute before joining AICF in September 2023. Jian leads the Regional AgriTech and Environmental Data Science Innovation program at AICF
