Biography

Dr. Yichang Gao is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Behavioural Science and Emerging Tech Interface at the AI and Cyber Futures Institute. She earned her PhD in Management Science and Engineering from Shandong Normal University and holds dual Master's degrees in Business Administration and Applied Psychology.

Her research interests lie in the intersection of artificial intelligence, behavioral science, and data analysis. Yichang has worked extensively on projects involving social media behavior, echo chambers, and cyberbullying, contributing to several top-tier journal publications. She also serves as a research affiliate with CSIRO and the University of Adelaide.

From 2022 to 2024, she collaborated with CSIRO on various government environmental and agricultural projects, where she served as a model architect and data analyst. Before joining AICFI in 2024, she was involved in significant research collaborations with teams in Germany and China, focusing on data science and behavioral analytics.

  • Designed and published a series of algorithms for identifying echo chambers on social media and is currently using these algorithms to develop a cyberbullying monitoring system
