John Trethewie has undertaking research and monitoring on the ecology, management, and restoration of aquatic ecosystems for over 5 years. He has extensive experience in undertaking fieldwork on flow-ecology relationships, ecosystem responses to environmental watering, and river restoration. He has been leading fieldwork for Long-Term Intervention Monitoring Project (2017-2019), and the Monitoring, Evaluation and Research (Flow-MER) program in the Edward/Kolety-Wakool system (2019-present) funded by the Commonwealth Environmental Water Office. He has also been involved in fieldwork for the Victorian Environmental Flows and Monitoring and Assessment Program (VEFMAP) in the Glenelg River (2014), and Loddon-Campaspe Rivers (2015-2016). His primary area of expertise in in field and laboratory techniques concerning fish spawning, larval identification and juvenile fish recruitment and growth.
