Data capture platforms

The main three platforms used for this purpose are:

1. Unmanned Aerial vehicle (UAV or drone) platforms
2. Crewed aircraft platforms
3. Satellite platforms

UAVs will be discussed here in more detail since they are able to be purchased by land managers and are the most common aerial platforms for weed detection. Aerial and satellite imagery needs to be purchased by providers and these will be discussed further below.
