About our community

Our weed remote sensing community is a cross-sectoral community of stakeholders and practitioners working in land and weed management who are focused on building capacity and capability in remote weed detection to support effective weed biosecurity and management.

The goals of the weed remote sensing community are to:

  • Provide learning opportunities on remote weed detection current practice and methods
  • Establish a network of remote weed detection stakeholders and practitioners (equipment providers, imagery collection and analysis)
  • Provide opportunities to develop and collaborate on cross-sectoral remote weed detection
  • Develop and share information about general remote detection
  • Encourage a culture of improving practice and supporting each other

The Weed Remote Sensing community meets quarterly as a community of practice, with invitations sent to members. Membership is free.
