The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) ensures the university’s activities and facilities involving hazardous microorganisms and genetically modified organisms meet safety, ethical and professional standards.
It also ensures compliance with the Gene Technology Act (2000) and related regulations.
The committee reviews applications for the procurement, use and physical containment of these organisms.
IBC meetings are held on Thursdays at 1:30-3:30pm via videoconference.
