Biography

Dr Levi is a Senior Lecturer and Academic Lead at the Bathurst Rural Clinical School (BRCS) in WSU with a background in Optometry and Vision Science and recognized expert in public and eye health research. He is an editorial board member for the Journal of Nigerian Optometric Association. Levi is the current President of the American Academy of Optometry - African Chapter and the Board Director of Research and Advocacy with the African Council of Optometry (AFCO). Levi works in coordinating various local and international research projects for population screening, identification and prevention of diabetes, complications, and health promotion with multi-disciplinary, translational policy implications. Levi hascollaborated with researchers in leading international and Australian Institutions, and with these collaborations, Levi convened two groups and brought together world-renowned researchers in eye health, published 18 peer-reviewed papers, presented at three international conferences, held four community information forums, received invited collaborations with African Vision Research Institute, and awarded the prestigious Tet fund grant from the Nigerian government.
