Biography

Dr Wong is a research Fellow with RHRI where she is engaged in overseeing the setting up of a synthetic medicinal chemistry laboratory for the preparation of drug candidates under Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) conditions, supervision of postgraduate students, and responsibility for instrumentation.

She conducted research for her PhD degree at HKUST on the topic "Studies on Artemisone and Other Artemisinin Antimalarials" in conjunction with Bayer AG, Leverkusen, Germany. At the Centre of Excellence for Pharmaceutical Science, North-West University (NWU), Potchefstroom, South Africa, she participated in the supervision of the South African Medical Research Council Flagship Project "MALTB REDOX: Development to the Clinical Phase of Oxidant and Redox Drug Combinations for Treatment of Malaria, TB and Related Diseases" and the SA NRF Project "Rational Development of Combinations of Known and Novel Drugs for Chemotherapy of Cancer."
