Biography

Dr. Kasuni Akalanka is currently involved in multidisciplinary research projects, covering topics from cancer, maternal and child malnutrition, oral health disorders, burden of substance use and mental health disorders. In her academic pursuits, she has served as a Visiting Research Fellow at the School of Medicine and Dentistry at Griffith University, as well as the Head of the Department/ Senior Lecturer in the Department of Basic Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka, among other distinguished roles in higher education settings. Accumulating over 14 years in academia, Dr. Akalanka has secured a wide array of awards at numerous national and international conferences.
