Introductory Chemistry 2 - SSS037

If you have completed Introductory Chemistry 1, this subject will extend your essential understanding in Chemistry!

If you didn’t study chemistry at school or would like a refresher, this is a great place to further develop your understanding after completing Introductory Chemistry 1. You will be introduced to calculating molecular weights, the concept of the mole, and writing molecular and empirical formulas. You will write and balance chemical equations leading to stoichiometric calculations and cover the nature of solutions, solubility and acids and bases.

In this short preparatory subject, we’ll cover these aspects of Chemistry:

  • The mole concept
    • The mole concept
    • Molar mass
    • Empirical and Molecular formulas.
  • Reactions and equations
    • Chemical reactions
    • Writing chemical equations
  • Stoichiometry
    • Finding the mass of product and reactants
    • Solution chemistry
  • Acids, Bases and Equilibrium
