Child protection
There are a range of professionals who are deemed by state-based legislation as mandatory reporters if they have a suspicion of child abuse or neglect. In addition to mandatory requirements based on professions, Charles Sturt University encourages any staff member or student who suspects a child is at risk to notify the appropriate statutory authority in their state.
There are different processes and contact details to make a report based on the state the child is based in which can be found here.
If you would like to speak to someone about your concerns or for advice on how to make a child protection report you can email safecommunities@csu.edu.au and you will be contacted by a member of the Office for Student Safety and Wellbeing team who can explain the process to you.
